Typically when speaking of Cabernet, and especially Cabernet from Rutherford, we speak of the black fruit flavors of blackberries, cassis, and black currants. With our 2009 release, however, we find a lot of our descriptors heading in the direction of red fruits - maybe even purple fruits - ripe plums, elderberries and ruby red cherries all with very supple tannins and lovely acidity.

winemaker's notes: Our 2010 vintage shows aromas of plums, cranberries, allspice and dried ginger with barrel notes of cedar box. The blend of 88% Cabernet, 9% Merlot and a splash of Sangiovese and Zinfandel truly is reflected in its flavors. The dark, jammy core drinks of boysenberry pie, black cherry preserves and currants. Medium in weight, the wine shows silky tannins and just a touch of barrel spice. Pair this versitile Cabernet Sauvignon with everything from burgers, ribs, lasagna, or chicken Parmesan to smoked Gouda or cheddar cheese. It's also perfect to enjoy a glass before dinner or with friends.

Deep, dense and concentrated, the flavors echo intense aromas of blueberry, bramble and cassis intermingled with cocoa, cinnamon and sweet, toasty oak. Bold, yet supple on the palate, the dark, richly-fruity flavors are balanced by a bright acidity and long finish.
