Blended Scotch Whiskey is a variety of whiskey (or whisky) from Scotland in which different batches of whiskey, sometimes even from different distilleries, are blended in the bottle. The blending may be of malts or grains, too. In Scotland, 90% of domestic whiskey production is blended scotch. One common point of confusion with scotch whiskey is the difference between a single malt whiskey and a blended scotch. A "single malt" is a whiskey made at a single distillery, whose sole ingredient is malted barley, while a "blended scotch" is a whiskey produced by mixing a variety of of grain whiskeys and single malts together in order to produce a more well-rounded flavor. Some popular brands of blended scotch we carry are Johnnie Walker, Cutty Sark, and Buchanans.
