Flavored Vodkas, also known as infused liquors, can contain flavors of lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, vanilla, black currant, cherry, apple, coffee, chocolate, cranberry, peach, passion fruit, pomegranate and many other combination of fruit flavors. These spirits generally have more sugar than regular vodka.
Flavors are added to vodka by steeping them in a container for a period of time between a number of hours to a number of months, depending on the flavor. The art of making flavored liquor is to know how long to leave the flavors to steep and then filtering to remove any additives. In the United States, some flavored vodkas are wrongly called schnapps in the United States.
